“I always remembered the help I received when having my abortion, so when the opportunity presented itself to apply for a role at MSI UK’s call centre in Bristol, that is just what I did.”
A client shares how her positive abortion experience with MSI UK led to a career in our call centre, supporting other people accessing abortion care with us.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I knew at that time that it was definitely not the right time or place for me to bring a child into the world, and I was absolutely terrified.”
Many years ago I found out I was pregnant with my then partner. My then partner was very abusive, and I still bear the physical and mental scars to this day. However, I have now found a lovely partner who I have been with for a very long time.
When I found out I was pregnant, I knew at that time that it was definitely not the right time or place for me to bring a child into the world, and I was absolutely terrified.
I can’t remember the whole process as it was so long ago, but what I do remember was going into the Bristol clinic for the first time. I remember the clinic as I felt so very supported by the people there, and appreciated how they made me not feel scared or judged for my decision.
I always remembered the help I received when having my abortion, so when the opportunity to apply for a role at MSI UK’s call centre in Bristol presented itself, that is just what I did. I began helping people just like I had been helped years before. I can really empathise with the people I speak with as I know I was that person on the other end of the phone wondering what was going to happen.
I now work as a manager in our call centre, and I still appreciate the fact that I am able to come to work and help people every day, which really gives me a great feeling of satisfaction.
