Medical abortion in London:

At MSI UK, we offer medical abortion care (sometimes called ‘abortion with pills’) up to 9 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. The treatment involves taking two types of medicine to end the pregnancy.

We also offer at-home abortion services (telemedicine) in South East London, meaning that if you meet the safety criteria to allow for a medical abortion without a scan, the abortion pills can either be collected by you from your nearest clinic, or posted to your home address after your consultation.

Surgical abortion in London:

We also offer surgical abortion care up to 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. The type of surgical abortion procedure we offer you will depend on how many weeks you have been pregnant, and your medical history. Your treatment type – and any questions you may have – will be discussed during a consultation with a health advisor that takes place before your treatment appointment.

To find out more about surgical abortion, click here: Surgical Abortion.

Which abortion treatment type is right for me?

There are two types of abortion: medical (or abortion with pills) and surgical. The type that is right for you will depend on a number of things – such as your individual circumstances, how you feel about the different options, and your gestation (how many weeks pregnant you are).

To learn more about your options and which type of abortion might be right for you, click below to find our abortion comparison table and our gestation calculator.

Abortion aftercare

When you leave our clinic, your care does not end. Recovery time after an abortion will be different for everyone. If you feel like you’re experiencing any problems or have any questions after your treatment, we’re here to help.

Our friendly and experienced nurses are available anytime on our 24-hour aftercare line, which is open seven days a week. To talk to a nurse now, contact us for a confidential chat on: 0345 122 1441.

We also offer a counselling service, which can be accessed at any time before, during or after your treatment with us. To read more about counselling at MSI UK, click here: Counselling.

Contraception

Following an abortion your fertility will return almost immediately. If you do not want to get pregnant after having an abortion it is important to have a contraceptive method in place as soon as possible. As part of your abortion treatment, you will be offered a range of contraceptive methods, and we’ll be there to advise and talk through your options with you.

Click here to find out more: Post-abortion contraception with MSI UK.

We also have independent contraception clinics in London, which are available to access even if you have not had an abortion with us. These clinics are available to people in Camden, Islington, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, and offer the fitting and removal of the IUD and IUS (contraceptive coils) and the contraceptive implant.
