This website has been rebuilt and launched in September 2023 with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA best practices in place.

Our commitment

Below, we outline a list of items we have worked on to make this website more accessible:

Design

  • Updated image led banners with text overlays (replacing image-banners with block colours-banners to ensure text is readable and meets colour-contrast requirements)
  • Removal of using Cyan for the button colour with white text
  • Added a new version of our brand colour Cyan that passes colour contrast tests
  • Removal of using Yellow for your button colour when on a white or grey background
  • Removal of Cyan used for headings / text when on a white or grey background
  • Removal of using Cyan, Light purple, Magenta (#ed0076) and Medium Green (#00a850) as background colours for text boxes on homepage
  • Ensuring sufficient contrast is applied between copy and background

Content

  • Short, readable content, understandable with an average literacy level
  • Ensure all links description make sense out of context
  • Semantic HTML used to format text

Images

  • Alternative text descriptions added when images add to the understanding of the copy, no alt tags when images are decorative

Language

  • Google translate bar had been introduced on mobile version of the website (not just desktop) with website re-structure in September 2023

Areas of improvement

Further known issues and what we are doing about them:

  • Form labels need improving
  • Some button and arrows need a larger clickable area
  • On some pages the H tag sequence is not correct and needs addressing

We are aware that accessibility requires constant attention as our website is constantly updated, we commit to reviewing our accessibility compatibility and fixing outstanding issues every time we deploy changes or updates to our web pages.
